Personality & Traits
General Overview | David is a generally genial and talkative man. Given the appropriate subject (cellular mitosis in Vulcan Flora for instance) he will talk your ear into oblivion. He has a curiosity that knows no bounds about just about anything living, from plants to people. He is known to be friendly and outgoing, but will often disappear for a day or more into his lab if something particularly piques his interest. Once he's cracked whatever conundrum he's working, though, he's back to his normal life and friends. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | David has a brilliant mind, capable of tackling anything he sets it to. In that, he though, he also has a weakness. He possesses such a singular focus that he often looses sight of everything else when focusing on a task. He is extremely confident in himself after having a relatively successful career. This has been perceived as arrogance by some, but it's not intended this way. It's created more than one awkward relationship that has eventually bloomed into a friendship. |
|
Ambitions | Currently, David is living his biggest Ambition: Being in charge of his own science department on a star ship. He is able to explore the stars and unlock mysteries that no scientist on earth would ever be able to. | |
Hobbies & Interests | Everyone has a guilty pleasure, and David is no exception. He has become obsessed with old earth comic books. During the Third World War, many became scares as paper was needed for the various war efforts. He's acquired quite a collection, amused by their ludicrous application of science. He also enjoys horse-back riding and bocce ball. |
Personal History | Curiosity started at an early age for David Windsor. As a small child, he caught every bug, looked at ever leaf, and read every book he could. He was always outside on some sort of adventure. His mother was generally in a state of horror as he brought injured animal after injured animal into her pristine home and nursed it back to health, but his father encouraged him to keep doing, and keep learning. Once David entered school, he clung to the sciences like an old friend. He excelled in the coursework and loved every moment of them. This passion lasted through his high school career, and earned him free rides to several prestigious colleges. His parents were dismayed when he announced his intentions to join Starfleet. A cooshy job in a lavish earthbound lab was not his idea of a career. He wanted to explore, he wanted adventure, he wanted to see things that no one else had seen before. He wanted to venture into space. His dreams and his ambitions were set far apart from his parents luxurious mansion life-style. His mother refused to speak to him until after he left, but his father begrudgingly accepted his decision and wished him well. David excelled in Starfleet, wrapping up his sciences track in three years time. He was assigned to the USS Pilgrim as a Biosciences Technician. While there, he earned a reputation as a capable scientist and found himself quickly promoted to Assistant to the Science Officer. While there, he formed a friendship with the CO, Elsa Gunning. He was devastated when she left, but a couple of short years later, he found himself with new standing orders: Report to the USS Farragut as the Science Officer, reporting to Captain Gunning. |
