| Personal History | Duncan was born on the Colony of New London in 2345. His father was assigned there as a Diplomatic Envoy for Starfleet and his mother was part of the Starfleet Liason Team working with the Administration. Growing up as the middle child son of a Starfleet Diplomat and a Starfleet Officer he and his siblings moved around a lot and he spent most of his time on Earth. Which he considered to be his home. When he was old enough he followed in the path of his mother and older Brother and enrolled at Starfleet Academy. He opted to study Security and Criminal Studies and finished within the top ten in class, he became an expert in Energy based Weapons. Graduating as an Ensign he was assigned to the USS Aldrin as the Armory Officer aboard the Ship. Serving on the Ship was a rewarding experience as he was able to explore the Stars and encounter Alien Races. In 2268 whilst on a Survey Mission to the Beta Quadrant, the USS Aldrin was attacked by an unknown vessel and whilst attempting to secure the Armory, Duncan was hit by debris from an exploding console which hit him in the torso. He was transferred to a Medical Facility after the Ship escaped. He was on an Extented Leave of Absence for 18 months to recuperate and heal from his injuries. He returned to active duty officially in 2270 and was Stationed on the USS Durham. He was promoted became her Combat Tactics Officer in 2272 following the loss of her Security Officer and Armory officer on an Away Team earlier that month. Duncan stayed with the Ship until 2274 when he was moved to Starfleet Command. He received a further promotion and was a Combat Tactics Officer at the Academy teaching Cadets about Team work and Leadership. He enjoyed this aspect of his job and understood the need to prepare Cadets for the unknown of Space. After his stint at the Academy he was moved to USS Garfield in 2276 and was Assigned as her Security Officer, the defacto Ship Policeman. It was a very different assignment than he had experienced as a Junior Officer or as a Combat Tactics Officer. In 2278 he was transferred to the USS Farragut in the very heart of Deep Space. |
