Alit I
    Homeworld of the Lorillian species

Alpha Carinae IV

II is a class-M planet slated as a 'point of interest' to the Daystrom Institute. V is the home planet of the Drella, an entity that absorbs energy from the feelings of love it senses around it.

Alpha Proxima II
An established Federation colony in 2189 by the colony ship SS Esperanza. In 2266, a plague swept the planet, sparked by the uncovering of one of the Malkus Artifacts. This plague struck the entire governing council, necessitating the implementation of martial law.

Alpha V
    An Earth colony

Andoria
The Andorian homeworld, a frozen M-class moon orbiting the blue gas giant Andor, is a longtime member of the Federation whose inhabitants are distinguished by their blue skin, white hair and antennae. Andoria is near the Vulcan homeworld, and the Vulcans and Andorians are (perceived to be) traditional enemies. Andoria is also host to an Andorian subspecies called the Aenar, who live in isolation from the rest of their world. The albino Aenar are blind but strongly telepathic. Vulcan ambassador V'Lar negotiated the first treaty between Andoria and Vulcan. The Andor/Andoria system is located in the Epsilon Indi star system.

Antares
    Homeworld to the Antarans species.

Arcadia
    Home of the Arcadian species.

Archanis System
Formerly a part of the Klingon empire before ceeding into the Federation. Archanis IV is a federation colony world.

Archer IV
The first habitable M-class planet discovered and explored by the Enterprise (NX-01). In the 22nd Century, the pollen of plants on this planet had a powerful hallucinogenic effect. By the 23rd Century, this problem was solved, and the planet became the home of a thriving Federation colony and was named after Captain Jonathan Archer.

Archer's Comet
Not a planet, but the largest comet ever discovered and large enough for an away team to land on it with a shuttlecraft and collect core samples.

    No notes.

Argelius II
Argelius II (known as Nelphia to its inhabitants) was a Class M Federation planet located in the Tau Ceti quadrant, orbiting the star Rho Magnin (Argelius B) in the Ciatella star system. It is home to the Argelians. In the early 11th century, intense planetary conflict raged on Argelius, which nearly resulted in the annihilation of all life on the planet. Slowly, the Argelians began to recognize the danger of their actions and began to turn to a life of peace. However, this was a very slow process and the "Great Awakening" of the Argelians did not occur until the late 21st century.

As the Argelians began to rebuild their world and their society, Argelius began to look like a paradise. By the late 22nd century, Argelius began to attract visitors from all over the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, with its most frequent visitors being from the Federation. In 2230, Argelius joined the Federation and became an important space port. By the 2250s and 2260s, Argelius was a popular shore leave destination for Starfleet officers, given its varieties of bars and casinos, as well as the excellent weather and friendly culture.

Arkonia
Homeworld to the reptilian Akonians in the Alpha Quadrant.

Aulia
AKA Rigel VII. Homeworld to the Rigellians and the Aulacri species. It was quite a large world (ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation), but Aulia had an Earth-like gravity of 1.0 g and a 27-hour day. It was a class M planet with a terrestrial atmosphere, and a cool temperate climate.

The most striking feature of Rigel VII is its huge moon, Golia. Subtending 30 degrees, it can nearly fill the sky, and cannot be covered by two hands at arm's length. Its rugged cratered and fissured surface is easily visible at most times of the day or night; the bright-side lights up the landscape at night, and even half-full the blue-lit dark side is visible. Eclipses of Golia are frequent and sometimes quite lengthy - a full half-day may be cast in twilight, or the moon may be completely hidden all night - while solar eclipses are not uncommon.

However, Golia's great size raises huge tidal forces, where the difference between low tide and high tide is at least 150 metres and often greater. The orbits of the planet and moon also make the tides highly chaotic, with high tides sometimes occurring less than two hours apart, or low tide lasting a day or more. Due to the irregular coastlines and shapes of the oceans, the shorelines suffer huge deluges at least twice a day. These tidal bores surge up narrow straits as 50 metre high walls of water at high speeds, and are quite destructive.

The rest of Aulia is a world of natural beauty and nearly untouched wilderness. The vegetation is lush and plentiful, and provides significant quantities of food and medicinal compounds. However, harvesting it is difficult and expensive due to the tides.

The Orions have attempted to colonise Rigel VII on at least four separate occasions, and have left the ruins of castles and fortresses, mines, logging camps, fishing towers, spaceports, plantations and villages. Each effort has been thwarted by the tides or by the attacking Kaylar. Every time the Orions cut their losses and departed, and no interest in trying again by the late 23rd century.

In 2254 Rigel VII was visited by the USS Enterprise on the eve of its entry into the Federation.

Rogue elements of the Rigellian population took the opportunity to rebel against the planet joining the Federation and lead a coup, with the Rigellian warrior caste; the Kaylar attacking Federation personnel.

Aurelia
Jungle homeworld to the feathered Aurelian species.

Axanar
    Homeworld of the Axanar species

B'Saari II
    Homeworld of the B'Saari species

Babel
Babel was a planetoid in the Wolf 424 star system which served as a neutral site for many diplomatic talks and other events between powers of the Alpha Quadrant. It was unnamed until 2154, when a conference between Earth, Vulcan, the Andorian Empire, and Tellar was held there, under the code name "Babel", a name derived from the biblical story.

Babel served as the home of a part of the Federation Council, as well as being the location of the Babel Station. Outside the Babel Station was an esplanade where a variety of commerce was conducted and due to the neutrality of the site, weapons were not allowed to be carried by visitors who were under strict regulations.

Beta Antares IV
    No notes

Beta VI
Beta VI was originally the site of an Orion Colony, but it was joined by Human and Andorian settlers. On reference stardate 1/2701.14, the Humans and Andorians accused the Orions of "chronic criminal activity and corruption" and demanded the Federation remove them. In response, the Botchok Planetary Congress insisted that a Federation High Commission be appointed to investigate; however, it supported the Federation colonists' case. The incensed Orions left without paying their bills, draining 21.32 million credits from Beta VI's economy, as well as the costs of relocating them in the first place.

Boroth
    Homeworld of the Borothans.

Bosilia
    Homeworld of the Boslic species.

Camus II
A planet that once was home to a highly advanced species with the power to exchange life-entities. Their ruins have long been studied by Federation scientists.

Canamar
Enolian penal colony for severe crimes.

Ceti Alpha V
Prior to 2268, Ceti Alpha V was considered to be a Class M planet that was barely capable of supporting life. Following the explosion of Ceti Alpha VI and the changes to Ceti Alpha V's orbit and axial tilt, the planet became Class K.

Starfleet charted Ceti Alpha V from a very early period in Earth's exploration of the galaxy. While the planet did possess a great deal of life, it was not ideal for colonization as its weather conditions were considered extreme, due to powerful rainstorms. Moreover, the planet lacked sufficient metals and minerals that could help sustain a colony.

Centauri VII
    Homeworld of widely renown artists.

Coridan
At least one home world of the Coridan species, which was important in the early development of the Federation for its rich deposits of dilithium and other minerals. Mining rights were a heated debate between the Tellarites and Vulcans.

Corinth IV
Location of a starbase within the Corinth system.

Cygnet IV
A habitable planet in the system orbiting the star Cygnet near the Klingon border but in Federation space.

Cygnet XIV

The world was first charted by the Vulcans during their surveys and exploration of space where they noted the dominating matriarchy of the planet which had lasted for centuries. By the mid-22nd century, the planet was known for its advanced and highly ordered civilization. In 2155, the United Earth Starfleet vessel Enterprise came to Cygnet XIV in order to repair their warp drive. This first contact had some difficulty as the Cygneti representative could not take Human Captain Jonathan Archer seriously as he was a male.

Cygnia Minor
Small Federation colony. In 2266, an Earth colony on Cygnia Minor was facing famine.

Dakala
A rogue planet discovered in 2151 by the Enterprise NX-01. It exists in perpetual darkness, however the surface is teeming with non-photosynthetic plant life and a diverse animal population, many of which possess bioluminescence. The planet featured an icy terrain, and was home to at least two native predatory species: the hengrauggi and the drakoulias. The planet was also the location of a largely automated Starfleet outpost.

Deneb V
Also known as Deneb Kaitos V is where the Federation Academy of Sciences is based.

Deneva
A lush and hospitable world without native intelligence, Deneva (also known as Deneva Prime and Kappa Fornacis III), charted and named by the Vulcans, was colonized by Humans in the early mid-22nd century, in order to establish mining operations in its star system's asteroid belt. It quickly became one of Earth's most economically indispensable and culturally influential colonies, in the Beta Quadrant's Kappa Fornacis star system.

As the colony continued to grow in the late 22nd and early 23rd centuries, a scientific base started to develop on Deneva, which drew many scientific minds from all over the Federation. It was in the labs of Carter Winston's Resources Corporation of Deneva where the energy-channeling properties of dilithium were first observed by Federation researchers.

Denobula Triaxa
The Class-M homeworld of the spacefaring, humanoid Denobulan species, the lone planet of the star Denobula Triaxa. It contains only one large, densely populated, rocky continent housing roughly 12 billion people.

The name given an interdimensional region within the Delta Triangle area near the Federation-Klingon border, as well as the name of the society that had formed there. For centuries, starships from cultures across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants had mysteriously disappeared in or near the Delta Triangle. In 2269 the USS Enterprise discovered a "pocket universe" into which these vessels, and their crews had disappeared, and become trapped by the unique energy and temporal qualities of the region. Time within Elysia passed much more slowly than in the outside universe, allowing ship survivors extended life spans.

Eminar VII
A planet in the NGC 321 star cluster. The seventh planet of the star system it was located in, the planet was home to the Eminian Union. The planet achieved spaceflight by what was the 19th century on Earth. During that time, the planet had become embroiled in a conflict with Eminian colonists who had settled on the planet Vendikar - the third planet of their star system. Eventually the two societies developed computers that fought their war for them, with casualties ordered to commit suicide by stepping into a disintegration machine and being vaporized. For the next five hundred years the two cultures fought this computerized war, killing about three million of their citizens a year.

The Federation sent the starship Valiant to the area, which made initial contact with Eminiar VII in the early 23rd century. After making a report to Starfleet, the ship disappeared, a victim of the conflict between Eminiar and Vendikar.

Fabrina
Destroyed homeworld of the Fabrina people.

Ferenginar
A class M planet in the Alpha Quadrant, homeworld of the Ferengi and the capital of the Ferengi Alliance. The planet's capital city is primarily a series of low domes broken by a tall spire, the Tower of Commerce, which marks the Sacred Marketplace, and is the seat of power of the Grand Nagus, the leader of the Ferengi Alliance. The planet is best known for its nearly constant, planet-wide torrential rains, rotting vegetation, and rivers of muck. Merak was one of the first worlds that was colonized by the Vulcan race, Merak was a tropical world that was rich in radioactives and industrial crystals which were used to run power plants. The need for increased productivity resulted in the colonists removing much of the world's northern rainforests in order to make room for newer as well as more advanced facilities.

After the Four Years War, construction began on ship building facilities which produced vessels of various designs for Starfleet. In addition, it also served as an important commercial and trade center. In the late 2260s, Merak experienced a bacterial infestation affecting botanical growth on the world that in ten years would potentially kill all flora on the planet.

Memory Alpha
(Also called The Memory Planet) is a planetoid. Memory Alpha is also the name of the library complex set up on the planetoid, containing an archive of the total cultural history and scientific knowledge of all planetary Federation members. The library was assembled for academic purposes only. No defensive shielding was installed, as the information was available to anyone in the galaxy. The library complex was an array consisting of five large and seven smaller domes on the surface of the planetoid. Mestiko was divided into a number of nation-states, which had for centuries engaged in conflict and warfare. A great worldwide conflict was fought circa 2200, and afterwards, a global security council called the Zamestaad was created, as a forum for the various nations to peacefully avoid future wars.

In the early 2260s, scientists in the nation-state of Gelta developed and launched a faster-than-light warp vessel, which was detected by a passing Andorian passenger transport. The Federation began study of the people of Mestiko, and in 2263 placed surgically-altered observation teams on the planet.

Metamorpha
A Class M planet in Galaxy Telpha 7. It is the home to a sentient humanoid species, the Metamorphans. Hundreds of years prior to the 2260s, an asteroid collided with the planet, and brought about rapid chemical changes. As a result, the planet entered a state of rapid changes and upheavals on the surface, and the populace was converted to energy.

Narendra III
The M-class world Narendra III is the third planet in the Narendra system and was the site of a Klingon colony in the 22nd century as well as of an outpost in the mid-24th century.

Nausicaa
In the 22nd century, before the founding of the Federation, Nausicaan pirates were a significant threat to human freighters, and the early Starfleet spent much of its time on watch for Nausicaan pirates. It is the fifth planet of five orbiting a yellow-white class F star. It is Class M and the homeworld of the Nausicaan race.

All of Nausicaa's landmass is connected. Although 40% of the surface is covered in water, it doesn't possess the oceans found on other worlds. Instead, it sports a series of large lakes and isolated seas. These are mostly concentrated in the tropics, forming a pair of irregular "rings" around the circumference. A belt of forest exists along the equator, and the planet's major cities are clustered on grassland slightly to the north. This causes the lakes and seas to form a "fringe", separating the lush and fertile regions - and those supporting extensive settlements - from the temperature latitudes, which are largely barren.

Norellus
Planet in the Delphic Expanse where a deuterium station is located.

Nueral
Neural was a Class M planet located in the Zeta Botis system. In 2219, Starfleet conducted a survey of the planet.the planet was inhabited by a group of primitive humanoids who live in tribes known as the Hill People, which are led by female shamans known as the Kahn-ut-tu. Because of the primitive nature of the civilization, the planet was protected by the Federation's Prime Directive.

Omicron Ceti III
A Class M planet located in the third orbit of the Mira system. The planet was once considered the perfect planet for an agricultural colony, as its soil will grow anything planted in it. The climate is moderate, having a small amount of rain all year round. Unfortunately, this perfection is marred by the fact that the planet is bombarded by berthold rays at such an intensity that any animal life could only survive for a week. Multiple attempts were made to colonize the planet, but all failed as the berthold rays were not yet known to Federation science.

Oran'taku
Oran'taku is a Class M planet, inhabited by a humanoid species, located in the Delphic Expanse about one half light year from the Xanthan homeworld.

Organia
A non-aligned planet. The seeming primitive inhabitants reveal themselves to be powerful sapient discorporates.

Orion

The planet Orion once harbored a highly-advanced civilization whose history has drawn great interest from Federation historians and archaeologists alike.

Orion I
Location of the Institute of Cosmology.

P'Jem
A Vulcan monastery on a planet near Andoria, destroyed in 2152. The buildings dated from as far back as the 9th century BC. In the 22nd century, the monastery was ransacked three times by the Andorians looking for a suspected sensor array. On the last of these occasions, in 2151, the Earth starship Enterprise visited P'Jem only to find it taken over by a group of Andorian commandos. The monostary was bombarded from orbit by the Andorian assault forces.

Paraagan II
The Paraagans established a mining colony on another world with an atmosphere that reacts explosively with plasma. In 2152, an Enterprise NX-01 shuttle craft causes the atmosphere to ignite which killed 3,600 colonists. The cause of the blast was traced back to Suliban sabotage.

A Class M planet, homeworld of the Klingons and capital of the Klingon Empire. Using the Vulcan star charts, Qo'noS was first visited by Humans in 2151. It is about four days away from Sol at warp 4.5. It includes a lone huge land mass with a vast ocean, a severely tilted axis that causes wild seasonal changes, a turbulent atmosphere and extremes of both warm and frigid weather.

Regulan System
Star system with three inhabited planets, Regulus III, IV and V. Regulus III has Starfleet Academy facilities. Regulus V is the home of giant Eel Birds that return after 11 years to the cavern where they hatched to mate.It is located within the Vulcan border, near Andorian space.

The inhabitants of Remus are the bat-like Remans, who were subjugated ever since the Romulans staked their claim to Remus and set up their new homeworld in the system. The planet is tidally locked to its sun, one side of the planet is in constant darkness. Remus is the prime planet of dilithium mining and as such many Remans are forced into slave labor. Much about Remus remains a mystery, including the source of its humanoid population.

Rigel XII
(Also known as Egessemine)The twelfth planet of the Rigel system in the Beta Quadrant. It was located in the Levintine Expanse. It was a harsh, frozen desert world, home to rugged miners and a vital supply of lithium and dilithium to the wider galaxy.

Rigel XII was settled by Human and Andorian prospectors in the 2190s, who established a few scattered mining colonies. The largest was Childress Camp, which had a lithium cracking plant. On reference stardate 1/7603, Orions discovered the world's extensive dilithium deposits. This they mined and sold to both the Federation and the Klingon Empire as power rectifiers for warp drives, revolutionizing interstellar travel and military-grade weapons technology.

Later, during the Four Years War between the two powers, on stardate 1/9504, a Klingon taskforce destroyed an Orion merchant ship transporting dilithium to the Federation. The Orions' Botchok Planetary Congress (BPC) and Orion Frontier Merchants Association responded by threatening to destroy all dilithium on Rigel XII if either side interfered with their neutral trade. Both sides complied with this resolution.

Risa
Risa, also known as the "pleasure planet" or Epsilon Ceti B II, was an M-class planet located in a binary star system, with two moons. It was the homeworld of the Risians and a member of the Federation. Risa was located about ninety light years from Earth.

Originally a dismal, rain-soaked, and geologically unstable planet covered with vast jungles and plagued by violent earthquakes, the native Risians transformed their world with a technologically sophisticated weather control network that provided nearly constantly desirable weather, and seismic regulators to eliminate the geological instability for optimum tourist comfort. Known for its beautiful tropical resorts and abundance of pristine beaches, Risa was a popular tourist destination in the Alpha Quadrant since at least the 22nd century.

Romulus
One of two homeworlds of the Romulan Star Empire, orbiting the star Romulus with its twin planet of Remus, and the site where a Vulcan offshoot race eventually settled after their split over two millenia ago.The planet is divided poltically into provinces, with the cities made up of "segments." Its scenic wonders are many, including the Firefalls of Gal'gathong.

Romulus was the adopted homeworld of the Romulans and capital planet of the Romulan Star Empire. The planet was also known as ch'Rihan (in the Rihannsu language) and 128 Trianguli III-A (in the astronomical notation of Earth). In yet another language, the planet was known as Rom'laas, and in another catalog system, Ket-cheleb III. Romulus was the third of ten planets, and its tidally-locked "sister world" was known as Remus. Together, Romulans and Remus were sometimes called the Hearthworlds. Remus and the planet Romulus had a "Trojan relationship" in the way they revolved around each other. The sun around which Romulus orbited is known as Eisn. Romulus was a lush, humid world abundant with vegetation and large bodies of water, and was designated a Minshara class world. The planet had two moons, Pirek and Elvreng.

Rura Penthe
A frozen Klingon controlled planet which contained a penal colony, known for its harsh conditions and dilithium mines.Prisoners at Rura Penthe were forced to conduct mining operations for the purpose of retrieving the vast deposits of dilithium which existed beneath the surface. The surface temperature of Rura Penthe was extremely low, the landscape dominated by glaciers and gusting snow. Without proper clothing, no humanoid lifeform was able to survive for an extended period on the surface, so most of the mining and prison facility was located underground. A magnetic shield encased the mining facility and a vast area surrounding it in order to prevent prisoners from being beamed away. The facility was routinely patrolled by armed guards, but further security measures were deemed unnecessary due to the harsh surface climate.

Sherman's Planet
Sherman's Planet was a disputed planet located near the Federation-Klingon border, in an area first mapped by astronomer John Burke in 2067. Following the Federation-Klingon War and per terms of the Organian Peace Treaty, ownership of Sherman's Planet could be assumed by the side that could most effectively develop it. The Federation's intentions for Sherman's Planet were to use it to cultivate quadrotriticale, a grain well adapted to the planet's climate (as the Klingon's covert attempt to poison the grain helped tip the decision against them). In Klingonese, it was known as SermanyuQ. In 2267, both powers attempted to demonstrate, per the requirement of the Organian Peace Treaty, that they were best able to develop the planet.

Tantalus Prime
The Tantalus colony was a Federation penal colony, located on planet Tantalus V, that served as a prison and hospital during the late 23rd century. Violent criminals were imprisoned there for rehabilitation. The facility contained a mix of surface and underground structures; patient housing, therapy, and staff offices were located underground. Above ground structures included the elevator head through which one accessed the patient facilities, as well as other buildings. Like all penal facilities, the Tantalus colony was protected by a force field that inhibited transporter traffic. To visit the planet or transfer cargo, it was necessary to contact Tantalus personnel and request the field be deactivated.
