Carver wandered over to Daisy and pulled out his tricorder. He did a quick scan of the fruit she just ate. "Well, it looks like you lucked out. It doesn't appear to be poisonous to humans, but let's try to be careful, shall we."

A small man approached the group, a long cloak swishing out from behind him as he walked. He seemed uninterested in the revelry and reached the group without so much a glance at the others. "Captain Rackham. I am Ariak of Bellatrix. Please, please. Come in - this small soiree is for you. Your crew may relax with us!"

Daisy missed the one of the Natives entering and approaching them as she looked at Carver. "Yes sir!" She pulled out the scanner that was attached by an extending cord from her tricorder and waved over the food present. Once her tricorder gave an affirmative beep to indicate the food was safe to be consumed. "All safe sir! I'm sure they wouldn't poison guests on first contact."

"I don't think they would either, Ms. Skie-Cloud. But that wasn't my concern. We're on a strange new world. Don't assume that what they eat is safe for humans. Our bodies may look similar, but may be very different on the inside." Will patted her on the shoulder. "Just something to keep in mind."

Ariak of Bellatrix was gone as soon as he had arrived and he disappeared into a throng of party-goers. Rackham turned back to his group, one of whom appeared to be waving her tricorder all over the assembled plates. "I see Carver's stung you with his 'not fit for human consumption' bit, Ensign?"

"Yes sir! He has every right to remind me for being forgetful." Daisy gave Carver a smile and then the Captain. "Food is quite delicious." Held out a grape like fruit to Rackham.

Rackham regarded the fruit with a critical eye. It was slightly bigger than any grape he had ever seen and its skin was almost completely translucent, with its seeds obvious within the pod. He took it and popped it in his mouth, having realised that he was being observed by the Bellaricans around him.

Duncan sat down and with a smirk at the Captain he picked up what looked like an Apple. "The look on your face Sir makes it look rather bitter." He said before examining the fruit in his hand. "I still don't understand the need for medieval decorations when they are a clearly moderately advanced group."

Daisy looked over at Duncan, "If I remember correctly. Sol-3 still uses old building with their carved motifs and heraldry in various buildings of importance. This is just a display of a proud heritage showing the rise from a barbaric past. I am envious of such societies that are able to display, which where I come from, we have no history as grand as this to display." She tossed in a playful manner, a grapelike fruit at Duncan. "Relax and enjoy the fresh foods instead of the canned and preserved stuff carried by the ship."

Carver put away his tricorder and reached for one of the many fruits presented to them. It was a little tart, but not as bitter as what Rackham made it look to be. "Not bad. Though I'm intrigued by some of the other dishes." He made his way down the table to a tray of some sort of summer sausage, though he was pretty sure it wasn't going to just be beef and pork. Will chose a piece of the meat and a small slice of cheese. The sausage had a tangy flavor, almost like some sort of venison.

Just as the group had split up, some sampling dishes, others watching the peacock displays of local dancing, the little man, Ariak of Bellatrix once again appeared at Captain Rackham's side. "I wonder if you and your group might come and meet the reason for our prosperity, Captain. Our most revered lady, Sare."
