Mission:
The Belle of Bellatrix
Location: Officer's Lounge [C Deck, USS Farragut]
Timeline: 2278.54 1435hrs
Previously...
He had to get out of there. He shoved his way through the throng to the door and was ejected like a champagne cork out into the corridor. The doors shut behind him and all was quiet for a moment. Then a shrill cry came from Observation Lounge. He stuck his head round the door, just managing to avoid a model of the original sailing ship Farragut which was hurled in his general direction.
"Look what you made me do!" screamed Ensign Herzig screamed at the person who had been, up to a few moments ago, his closest friend aboard the ship. "I love that ship and you made me smash it!"
"There you go again, avoiding the problem!" Ensign Tukaxtod shouted back. "We're not talking about some model, we're talking about the potatoes! You soured them!"
"I did no such thing!" Herzig shot back, outraged that his Rigelian comrade would even suggest such a slur. "They were kept well away from the scooter so it couldn't have been me. Besides, you broke the ship!"
"You did that!"
"You take that back! I'd never break that ship. I love that ship!"
"No, you're being an imbecile."
"Imbecile?" the outrage on Herzog's face made him flush red and his eyes burned. He took a deep breath and charged at Tukaxtod, crash tacking him and sending the pair of them sprawling over the table, fists, knees, feet flying.
He wasn't going in there - no chance. Kramer didn't know what to do but it was quickly becoming obvious that he was among the only ones with his sanity left intact. What the hell was happening to these people? He passed the Wardroom on his way to the turbolift. It was empty so he ducked inside to gather his thoughts.
On G deck in front of the Armory, Lt.jg Sanders sat with crossed legs in front of the Farragut's Armory. Holding a phaser close to her chest, she whispered to herself. "No one's going to get in here on my watch." She grinned. "Maybe I should put my legs out so I can trip anyone that comes by." She thought.
"I wonder." He said aloud as he caught his breath under the large viewing port which faced out into nothing. The Triangle struck him. Everyone had heard the stories of ships getting lost in it and never being heard from again - if this was what happened to organics when they entered the triangle, it was no wonder they kept losing ships.
There was only one way to confirm it though, he'd have to get to the physics labs on H Deck where Windsor had been working. That would be easier said than done though - especially if everyone was like this.
The turbolift was just twenty feet away from him when the doors spilled open and a particularly wicked looking officer emerged, clearly spoiling for a fight and - worryingly enough - carrying a phaser.
Somehow, Nau had emerged victor from the previous fight, and in the meantime had gotten his hands on a phaser. He came charging out from the turbolift, pointing the phaser at various objects and people. He smiled wickedly as he noticed Kramer. "Looootenanttttt...I need to see if my phaser is working...when I point it at you and discharge it....will you see if it goes off?" Nau was laughing as he spoke..
Telim appeared from a side corridor just as suddenly as Nau had charged from the turbolift, and swung a fist square at the CPO's jaw. "Where is it!?" he cried, following the man's new momentum and patting at his pockets, looking for something. "Where did you put it? You've hidden it! Give it to me!" Seemingly realising that Nau didn't have whatever it was the Andorian was looking for, his head snapped around to stare at Kramer. "Where is it?!"
"Where's what?" Kramer asked hesitantly, backing up toward the turbolift and hoping that he could get the doors shut before the Andorian ripped his head off.
From the floor of the corridor, Nau watched Kramer and Telim yelling at each other....he then drifted off into la-la land..
"The... the... thing. The..." Telim was clearly getting extremely frustrated at his inability to remember the details of whatever it was he was obsessing over. His antennae were curled tightly inward and twitching at the agitation. "The data thing. For the chart thing. Where is it?!" he lurched back to his feet and moved unsteadily but quickly towards Kramer, risking the possibility of catching up to him before he could seal himself in the turbolift.
Oh christ. Kramer thought as he desperately punched at the turbolift controls trying to get the doors to close quicker. The Andorian was almost upon him as the doors began to edge themselves closed, trapping th'Endirhc's hand in the door and making him cry out in pain.
Telim yanked his hand out of the closed doors and shook it, trying to ease the pain. Then, seemingly forgetting all about Kramer and his hurt fingers, he started moving back through the corridors, pulling open any slightly loose wall panels to look behind them for whatever he had lost, before moving on again.
